MOUNDS, Ill. -- Alberta Nelson, 97, of Mesquite, Texas, and formerly of Mounds, died Monday, March 19, 2001, at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Dallas, Texas. She was born Oct. 9, 1903, in Mounds, daughter of Karl and Ida Moore Nelson. She was a member of the Congregational Church and was a retired teacher for the Mounds Township Public Schools...

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Alberta Nelson, 97, of Mesquite, Texas, and formerly of Mounds, died Monday, March 19, 2001, at Autumn Leaves Nursing Home in Dallas, Texas.

She was born Oct. 9, 1903, in Mounds, daughter of Karl and Ida Moore Nelson. She was a member of the Congregational Church and was a retired teacher for the Mounds Township Public Schools.

She is survived by a nephew, Jimmy Weaver of Mesquite; and a niece, Beckey Weaver Ross.

She was preceded in death by a brother.

Friends may call from 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Beechwood Cemetery in Mounds.
