ORAN, Mo. -- Alberta Kluesner Lundgren, 81, of Schererville, Indiana, formerly of Oran, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at Whispering Pines Health Care Center in Valparaiso, Indiana.
She was born Aug. 1, 1933, in St. Joseph, Tennessee, to Joseph and Anna Mae Reischman Kluesner, and later moved to Oran. She and Lawrence Alan Lundgren were married June 13, 1971, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Chicago.
Alberta taught English at Hammond, Indiana, Public School System and Purdue University Calumet Campus.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence of the home; two brothers, Bernard (Dorothy) Kluesner of Cape Girardeau and Joe C. (Jane) Kluesner of Jackson; four sisters, Verneda (Merle) Hopper and Catherine (Loren) Elfrink of Oran, Mildred (Joe) Kirchdoerfer of Cape Girardeau and Ernestine Bueter of Advance, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Kluesner of Oran; a brother-in-law, Ervin S. Glueck of Chaffee, Missouri; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Jerome Kluesner; and three sisters, Geneva Allen, Joanna Glueck and Rita Glueck Diebold.
A memorial Mass will be held Sept. 12 at St. James the Less Catholic Church in Highland, Indiana.
A Mass will be held Sept. 20 at 6 p.m. at Guardian Angel Catholic Church in Oran.
Burial was in Highland.
