Funeral service for Alberta Garrett of Cape Girardeau will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel. The Rev. Wiley Reed will officiate, with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. today.
Garrett, 100, died Saturday, Feb. 21, 1998, at Beverly Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born March 11, 1897, at Marion, Ark., daughter of James and Julie Jackson Sanders. She married Robert Garrett Jr. Aug. 6, 1934, at Blytheville, Ark. He preceded her in death.
Garrett was a member of Second Baptist Church and its Mothers Board, and Golden Age Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a brother, Elijah Sanders of Muskegon, Mich.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, and a number of brothers and sisters.
