Alberta E. Theissen, 92, died Saturday, March 20, 1999 at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
Born July 31, 1906 in Gordonville, she was the daughter of Henry G. Schwab and Ida Rosetta Siemers.
On July 2, 1939, she married Otto Theissen. He died March, 17, 1969.
She had been a registered nurse for 50 years. She worked first at Southeast Missouri Hospital for many years, then at St. Francis Medical Center and finally for Dr. Thomas Sparkman.
A member of the Evangelical United Church of Christ, she was active in the Friendship Circle and also a member of the Mary Martha Circle.
Theissen is survived by several nieces and nephews: Nancy and Keith Wilhelm, John and Christy Nickel and Kenneth Nickel, all of St. Louis. Also surviving are cousins Amanda Short of Jackson and Lillian Stehr of Cape Giradeau.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sisters.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel with the Revs. James Caughlan and Ernest Jordan officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park.
