ALTENBURG, Mo. -- Albert E. Zoellner, 90, of Altenburg, died Saturday, April 21, 2007, in the Perry County Nursing Home.

He was born Sept. 19, 1916, in Frohna, Mo., son of Erwin and Emma Wirth Zoellner. He and Lorene Petzoldt were married Oct. 25, 1941.

He was a saw filer for 30 years and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Choral Society for more than 60 years, past president of Altenburg Lion's Club, member of East Perry Band (later called Saxony Hills Band), former Altenburg City alderman and Altenburg Athletic Association member.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Schlimpert, of Altenburg; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers and a son-in-law.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg. Service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Altenburg with the Rev. Steven Dressler officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
