PUXICO -- Albert "Sonny" Landers, died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1997, in an airplane crash. He was 40.
He was born at Ypsilanti, Mich., on June 25, 1957, the son of the S. Albert and Lillie Mae Black Landers. He had lived in the Puxico and Wappapello area all his life and was enployed by the Billy Conway Construction Co. of Malden. He was a 1975 graduate of Puxico High School and was affiliated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Puxico.
He is survived by a son, Travis Landers of Wappapello; and two sisters, Barbara and Della Crawford, both of Wappapello.
A son was also killed in the plane crash.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 8 today at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico. Joint funeral services with his son, Allen, will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Marvin Glass officiating. Interment will follow in the Elder cemetery near Malden.
