Albert Anton Sebek, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, July 3, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
He was born Dec. 10, 1917, in St. Louis, son of Anton and Mary Rhebek Sebek. He and Dorothy L. Brooks were married June 25, 1938.
He worked for a trucking company as a driver until retiring. He also was a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department for many years.
He served in the U.S. Army as a corporal during World War II.
He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Joseph A. Sebek of Cape Girardeau, and a brother, Anton J. Sebek of Cape Girardeau.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Visitation will be from 4:30-7 p.m. today at Lorberg Memorial Funeral Chapel. Parish prayers will be said at 6 p.m. at the chapel. A Knights of Columbus rosary will be said after 6 p.m. at the chapel.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Monsignor Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military rites at the graveside.
