Albert William Schlenker, 77, of Scott City died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2007, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Feb. 1, 1930, in Cape Gir-ardeau, son of John and Earmel I. Hartle Schlenker. He and Joan Morrill were married Jan. 27, 1951, at Fornfelt.

Schlenker was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as pilot of the dredge Potter. He had been a volunteer at Missouri Veterans Home.

He was a member of Broadway Methodist Church in Scott City, 32nd Degree member of Harold O. Grauel Masonic Lodge 672 in Cape Girardeau, and member of Scottish Rites in St. Louis.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Johnny Schlenker of Chaffee, Mo.; two daughters, Debby Cook of Scott City, Rita Dirnberger of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Adajane Davis of Scott City; six grandchildren, Ben Schlenker; Dustin, Robert and Abbie Cook; Destiny and Brock Dirnberger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City. A Masonic service will be held at 7.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Randy Morse officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Cemetery.
