Albert C. Schabbing, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003, at his home.
He was born June 10, 1919, in Cape Girardeau, son of Joseph A. and Mary Katharine Kohlfeld Schabbing Sr. He and Edna Lucille Job were married Oct. 25, 1944, in Cape Girardeau. She died Nov. 21, 2003.
Schabbing operated a dairy farm west of Cape Girardeau. He was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Knights of Columbus Council 1111, and a 4th Degree member of Knights of Columbus Thomas A. Langen Assembly. He was a former 4-H leader and former member of SEMO District Fair Board.
Survivors include a son, Larry Schabbing of Metropolis, Ill.; four daughters, Judy Menz of Sikeston, Mo., Barbara Diebold and Cathy Moran of Kelso, Mo., Patricia Baker of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Marie Laurentius of Cape Girardeau; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Parish prayers will be at 6 p.m., followed by Knights of Columbus rosary.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with the Revs. Tom Kiefer and James Seyer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
