Albert C. Sander, 95, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Dec. 23, 2016.
He was born June 6, 1921, in Cape Girardeau to the late Albert and Amanda Miller Sander. Albert married Getella Caraker on Aug. 12, 1941, in Cape Girardeau. She preceded him in death.
Albert served in the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1943 to 1945, and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau and worked for Central Packing Co. as a butcher for over 35 years.
Loving survivors include his three children, Kenny Sander of Cape Girardeau, Doreen (Charlie) Brown of Jackson and Karen (Dillon) Rhymer of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren, Shaun (Kendra) Brown and Charles (Dani) Brown; and great-grandchildren, Maddie, Austin, Ava, Jillie and Charlie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Getella Sander; sisters, Belma Whitticre, Erna Spalding and Dorothy Mills; and grandson, Matthew Sander.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with pastor Douglas C. Breite officiating. Burial with full military honors will be at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery.
