MILLERSVILLE -- Funeral service for Albert Ray Propst of Millersville will be held at 11 a.m. today at McCombs Funeral Chapel in Jackson. The Rev. Fred Rister will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery at Jackson.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 8:30 a.m.
Propst, 74, died Monday, Feb. 23, 1998, at his home.
He was born Nov. 17, 1923, at Sedgewickville, son of Harley and Hattie Bollinger Propst. He and Nelda Jean Hopkins-Runnels were married May 12, 1945, at Flat River.
Propst had lived on and operated the family farm near Millersville since 1946. He also was a bus driver and cafeteria worker with Jackson R-2 Schools. He was recognized for 42 years as a bus driver and 25 years work in the cafeteria.
In May 1994 he was recognized for many years of service as a firefighter with Millersville Rural Fire Department. He was a member of Millersville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Debra Rush of Jackson, Tenn., Emma Barker of Millersville; three brothers, Edward Propst of Cape Girardeau, Hansel Propst of Bridgeton, Dewey Propst of Fenton; a sister, Verla Crites of Marble Hill; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and five great-stepgrandchildren.
