ALBERT LAYTON

Albert S. Layton, 82, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 12, 1997, at Jefferson Memorial Hospital.

He was born May 15, 1914, in Perryville, son of Henry N. and Emma Guessel Layton. He and Elvira Oberndorfer were married June 8, 1937. She died Nov. 29, 1989.

Layton had been a salesman at Central Foods in Cape Girardeau and a clerk at Roziers in Perryville. He was a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Lintner of Festus; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville from 3:30-9 p.m. today, and after 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. The wake will be at 7 tonight.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Gerry Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Perryville.
