Albert Kester, 93, of Friedheim passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Lutheran Home, where he had lived the past eight years. He was born June 21, 1913, in Friedheim, son of the late Joseph J. and Emma (Kester) Kester. He and Bertha Ahrens were married Jan. 19, 1936, in Cape Girardeau. They had been married nearly 65 years when she passed away Jan. 14, 2001...

Albert Kester, 93, of Friedheim passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the Lutheran Home, where he had lived the past eight years.

He was born June 21, 1913, in Friedheim, son of the late Joseph J. and Emma (Kester) Kester. He and Bertha Ahrens were married Jan. 19, 1936, in Cape Girardeau. They had been married nearly 65 years when she passed away Jan. 14, 2001.

The Kesters lived and farmed in Friedheim, where Albert was baptized, confirmed and a lifetime member at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Loving survivors include a son, Jerry Kester of Perryville, Mo.; a daughter, Shirley Kinder of Burfordville; a sister, Letha Moore of Oak Ridge; five grandchildren, Jerry Dean (Michelle) Kester of St. Louis, Rodney (Vickie) Kinder of Jackson, Timothy (Crystal) Kinder of Burfordville, Cynthia (Mike) Mirly of Jackson, Deborah (Aaron) Abernathy of Jackson; and 11 great-grandchildren, Timothy and Emma Kester, Breanna and Landon Kinder, Tyler and Gage Kinder, Ryan, Ashley, and Deanna Mirly, Zachary and Megan Abernathy.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a son-in-law, Robert Kinder (Oct. 20, 2006).

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson and after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Friedheim.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church, with the Revs. Roger Steinbrueck and Adam Mueller officiating.

Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
