JACKSON -- Funeral service for Albert Henry Lowes of Jackson will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Otto Steinhaus will officiate, with burial in Russell Heights Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today. An American Legion service will be held at 7.

Lowes, 73 years old, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 1990, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 31, 1917, at Jackson, son of William H. and Louella Johnson Lowes. He and the former Juanita Fowler were married Oct. 29, 1938, at Benton.

Lowes was an inspector at International Shoe Co. more than 30 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church, and Altenthal-Joerns American Legion Post 158. He served in the South Pacific with the U.S. Air Force, and received two Bronze Stars. He also had coached boys Little League baseball many years.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Ron Lowes of Jackson; a brother, Joe K. Lowes of Jackson; two sisters, Grace Overbeck and Helen Penrose of Jackson; three granddaughters, Tracy, Jill and Holly Lowes.

He was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
