Albert A. Schlegel, 76, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 1999, at Glendale Heights.
He was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Dutchtown, son of Henry A. and Meyhulda Geiser Schlegel.
He served in the Navy Seabees during World War II and worked for Voges Standard Service Station in Cape Girardeau for many years. He was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include a son, Dan Schlegel of Glen Ellyn, Ill.; three brothers, Richard Schlegel of Waterloo, Ill., William Schlegel of Kelso, and Melvin Schlegel of Coshocton, Ohio; four sisters, Frieda Wendel of Jackson, Marie Nagel of Gordonville, Erna Duckworth of Bellevue, Neb., and Mildred Brugger of St. Charles; and two grandchildren.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating.
Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
