A.J. Cora, 75, 1646 N. Main, died Monday, Feb. 8, 1993, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born March 10, 1917, at Essex, son of William and Mabel Skaggs Cora. He first married Jacqueline Marlen Oct. 24, 1936, in Cape Girardeau. She died April 29, 1972. He later married Mable Wilson Kellick Sept. 1, 1973, at Dexter.
Cora was a self-employed bricklayer, retiring in 1978. He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church. Cora served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Terry and Jerry Cora of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Carol Golden of Jackson; two brothers, Charles Cora of Sacramento, Calif., J.W. Cora of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Lorraine Kesler and Evelyn Garling of Cape Girardeau; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Cy Smith will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-7 p.m. today.
