OAK RIDGE -- Adrian M. Clingingsmith, 84, of Oak Ridge died Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, at his home.
He was born Aug. 22, 1913, at Old Appleton, son of Frank and Mamie Miller Clingingsmith. He married Mary Dell Lang at Zion Methodist Church in Old Appleton Aug. 8, 1951. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Alan K. Clingingsmith of Hayes, Kan., and Perry D. Clingingsmith of Oak Ridge; a sister, Trula Halpern of Dresher, Pa.; and six grandchildren.
He was a member of Zion Methodist Church at Old Appleton.
He was a veteran of World War II and served in the quartermaster corps of the 5th Army in North Africa, Italy, the Philippines and Japan. He received four battle stars.
Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson with Janet Hopkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
