Ada Holmes
SIKESTON, Mo. -- Ada Katherine Holmes, 97, of Sikeston, formerly of Olive Branch, Ill., died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston.
She was born Oct. 5, 1911, at Olive Branch, daughter of Smith Henderson and Nancy Oller Denfip.
Holmes was a retired human resources employee at a department store. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Sikeston and was a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Survivors include a son, Alvin Holmes of North Charleston, S.C.; a daughter, Emma Jean Randolph of Florida; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Seth Randolph, in 1937. She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Floyd Holmes, in 1979.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, Ill.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. William Marshall officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski, Ill.
