CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Funeral service for A.C. Davis, 1520 Price, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Neil Stein will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-8 p.m. today.
Davis, 75 years old, died Sunday, March 17, 1991, at his home.
He was born Oct. 30, 1915, in Advance, son of Franklin and Ophia Overbey Davis. He and the former Ruth Gregory were married Sept. 13, 1950, in Hernando, Miss. She died Jan. 21, 1986.
Davis was employed 35 years with Southwestern Bell Telephone Co., retiring in 1977. He was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church, Telephone Pioneers, Missouri Society of Professional Engineers, and a Mason. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Patrick Davis of Cape, Gregory Davis of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three brothers, Robert Davis of Swartz Creek, Mich., Elmer Davis of San Antonio, Tex., Arthur Davis of Florissant; four sisters, Oneita Mincher and Loretta Broyles of St. Louis, Edna King of Madison, Ill., Wanda Thompson of St. Louis, and three grandchildren, Collin, Sean and Caitlin Davis of Kalamazoo.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
