Jonathon Matthew Francis was born Oct. 22, 2005. He is the son of Matt and Danielle Francis and the brother of Noah Francis.
Three words he would use to describe himself are hardworking, ambitious and confident. He is involved in FFA.
If Francis could travel anywhere in the world, he would go to Alberta, Canada, to hunt and see the Rocky Mountains.
His favorite teacher is Mrs. Johnson, Francis said, because she is "understanding and caring for her students, and she lets me go to work." His favorite high school memory, he said, is "when Drake wore Dalton's pants in the locker room." And his most embarrassing high school memory, he added, is "getting sent to Mr. Kinder's office for doing burnouts and drifting."
When Francis was a child, he dreamed of being a professional race car driver. Now he plans to work at Buzzi Unicem USA in Cape Girardeau.
Although he is excited to graduate and move on from high school, Francis admitted that he will miss certain things, including seeing his friends and having it easy compared to later in life.
His advice to underclassmen: "High School goes by quickly, so make it the best four years of your life and try not to get stressed about it."
The person who has had the greatest influence on him is his father.
"He has always been there for me when I needed him most," Francis said, "always pushes me to do better and to succeed."
SHOUT-OUTS: "Dad, mom, grandparents, Landon Flessner, Layne Whitener, Howie Clifton, Mr. Boyer, Mr. Ridings, Mrs. Johnson, Mrs. Stegeman, Mrs. Booth."
Trevor James Matthew Wood was born July 26, 2006. He is the son of Kristy Scharr and Matthew Wood. He has four siblings, Aubrey, Carson, Paislee and Blakely.
If Wood could travel anywhere in the world, it would be Colorado to kill a mule deer.
His favorite teacher is Mr. Boyer, Wood said, because he is easy to get along with. His favorite school memories are all of the mornings in the school parking lot. And his most embarrassing high school memory is when Mr. Kinder caught him roasting off his back tires in the school parking lot.
When Wood was a child, he wanted to follow in his dad's footsteps and do whatever he did. Now his plans include going straight to work and continue with his current job at Trentham Trucking.
His advice to underclassmen: "No burnouts in the school parking lot."
As for graduating, Wood said he is "excited to get out of school," but will miss aggravating his teachers and Mrs. Paula, the lunch lady.
The person who has had the greatest influence on Wood is his boss because he has taught him a lot. And his biggest accomplishment so far is making it through high school.
SHOUT-OUTS: Luke Trentham, mom, dad, Triston, Jordan, Braidyn, Mr. Boyer, Mr. Ridings, Mrs. Balzer, lunch lady Paula, my knuckleheaded girlfriend Braylynn."
