BLOOMFIELD -- An Essex woman has been charged with endangering a child a day after she allegedly shot her husband.

Jo Ella Williams (Hardin), 34, was booked into the Stoddard County Jail on a cash-only bond of $7,500 the child endangerment warrant.

As of Tuesday morning, she had not been charged in the shooting of her husband, William Williams, 33, who was treated Sunday for a gunshot wound to the chest. He was released Monday.

Stoddard County Sheriff Steve Fish said the shooting occurred early Sunday during a domestic dispute.

Meanwhile, William Williams, who went to the sheriff's department Monday after he was released from the hospital, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for assault, the sheriff said. He was released on his own recognizance.
