A concerned neighbor called police to investigate a slamming sound at the man's house on the 300 block of Albert Street, said Sgt. Rick Schmidt. Police found blood on the side of the house and the victim on his porch, bleeding with a swollen left eye. He told police he knew the two men who knocked on his door and struck him. They made him carry the items out to their van.

Bond was set at $20,000 for each suspect. Way posted his Sunday. Davis remains in custody at the Cape Girardeau County Jail in Jackson. They are scheduled to appear in court July 28.
