The train will arrive in Scott City from Chester, Ill., then leave to meet up with Jackson's St. Louis Iron Mountain Railroad's steam train in Delta. From there it stops once more in Poplar Bluff before heading out of state.

The locomotive was delivered to Union Pacific in 1944 and was built to pull heavy passenger and fast freight trains. It is the only steam locomotive in the United States that has never been retired from service. The locomotive's 4,700-horsepower engine has operated at speeds in excess of 100 mph.

The passenger cars are original Union Pacific domeliner and streamliner cars. Tickets for the tour are still available and can be purchased at any of the stops.
