ORAN -- Scott County R-3 school in Oran presented several scholastic awards to their seventh and eighth graders at an assembly held last month at Oran High School Gymnasium.
Aaron Teague and Clint Tyler, eighth graders, received the reading medals.
Eighth grader Laramie Klipfel and seventh grader Chad Jansen were awarded the language arts medal for English.
The eighth grade history award was won by Tyler. Chad Cook tied with Jansen for the seventh grade history award. Klipfel and Jansen won the Enrichment Awards.
Honors for economics were awarded to Brandon Massey and Jesse Branson, who both are in the eighth grade.
Four awards for computer education were won. Travis Bickings and Shannon Chapman, both in the seventh grade, won the computer award for the first semester of school. Branson and Crystal Simmons, eighth grade, won the award for the second semester.
Melissa Jones, seventh grade, and Branson won the home economics award. Tyler won the physical education award.
