A three-part program aimed at helping people control their weight and reduce their risk of heart disease will be held at St. Francis Medical Center in April and May as part of the hospital's "Feel Good!" community wellness campaign.
The program, titled 'Don't Eat Your Heart Out!' will be April 20, in the St. Francis Health and Education Center. The second and third parts of the program will be the following Thursdays, April 27 and May 4. Each of the two-hour programs will begin at 7 p.m.
Linda Lawrence a St. Francis cardiac rehabilitation nurse, will present the program, designed to help people reduce their fat intake and lose weight.
Registration fee is $5 a session ($15 for all three sessions). For registration information, people can call 339-6898. The Heart Institute can also be reached by calling 339-6157 or toll-free 1-800-455-1111.
