The Southeast Missourian asked people to rate the importance of chocolate in their lives.
Sharon Berry said, "I have one candy bar each day and it's usually a Hershey bar. I really love the way chocolate melts in my mouth. Also, I love how it's smooth and really sweet. My favorite kinds of baked chocolate are chocolate chip cookies and German chocolate cake."
Lavonna Holloway said, "I love chocolate. It's very important to me. I have chocolate every day in the form of hot chocolate, candy bars or chocolate covered nuts. I cook brownies, chocolate cake, chocolate cheese cake. The best I ever had is Hershey bars, pure chocolate."
Jack Meinz said, "I rate chocolate about a five. As far as my favorite kind I like all chocolates there are. I like a glass of milk along with the chocolate. Hershey's is probably the best if I had to choose between different kinds."
Judith Zahner said, "Chocolate on a scale from one-to-10 rates about a seven in my life. My favorite as far as making homemade candy is using the barks that are available on the market to melt fresh and to put into whatever you want to like peanuts, raisins or whatever."
Livi Selzer said, "My favorite chocolate is dark chocolate - it's the best. My favorite dessert is probably German chocolate cake. If I could, I would eat some type of chocolate every day, but I usually don't. Chocolate rates about a 12 in my life. It is very important to me."
Evelyn Anderson said, "I like chocolate very much. I have chocolate each day. Hershey chocolate is the best but all kinds are good. I bake chocolate chip cookies. My favorite chocolate dessert would be chocolate pudding. I could survive without chocolate but I don't want to."
