Missouri student fighting deportation

LAST CHANCE: Missouri student Marie Gonzalez will be deported next summer unless Congress passes a law that gives the children of illegal immigrants a path to citizenship.

ON HER OWN: Gonzalez's parents were deported to Costa Rica two years ago, but she has been granted three one-year deferments.

DREAM ACT: The Development, Relief and Education for Alien Minors Act, or DREAM Act, would allow about 50,000 undocumented students who entered the country before age 16 the chance to become permanent residents if they attend college or enlist in the military, but it is considered a long shot to pass Congress this year.
