JACKSON -- The Jackson Municipal Band, under the direction of Nick Leist, will hold its next concert Thursday at the band shell in the Jackson City Park. Singing lead are Joy Engelhart, Carrie Heise along with Wolford and Debbie Coalter. Singing in the baritone section are: Jo Ann Bock, Bev Cleair, Judy Hanebrink, Charlotte Hazen, Nola Koch, Nita McDonald, Sharon Schwarz and Irene Stevens.

The band's portion of the concert will include songs such as "Americans We," "Tallesin West" and a collection of country tunes by Garth Brooks. There will also be a collection of songs by George Gershwin, "Lichtensteiner Polka," Sousa's "Liberty Bell" and many more popular band compositions.

The Sweet Adelines meet on Tuesday night from 7 until 10 p.m. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Cape.

The group is holding summer rehearsals for the fall show scheduled for Oct. 15 at the Concord Theater. Women interested in learning to sing barbershop harmony are invited to the rehearsals.
