At age 5, Tyson already wants to be a superhero. If Santa could bring him superhero costumes and action figures he would get his Christmas wish.

Tyson could also use some board games and arts and crafts to round out his list for Santa this year. His older brother, who is 6, loves baseball and football and would like to have sports equipment to play with outside. They both love Hot Wheels cars and would like some crayons and markers. Their two sisters, ages 7 and 8, love arts and crafts kits of any kind. Barbie and some of her accessories are also on the girls' list for Santa.

Help Toybox this year and give joy to these children by bringing new toys to any of the Toybox locations, including the Southeast Missourian at 301 Broadway. Or make monetary donations to Toybox, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, MO 63702. Most-requested items include learning toys, Barbie dolls, Transformers, board games and Hannah Montana, Dora the Explorer and Spider-Man items.

Mr. I. is 71 years old and has COPD, is on oxygen, has high blood pressure and heart disease. He could use a pharmacy gift card to John's Pharmacy to help pay for his medicines.

He lives on Social Security in his own home with his wife, who also has several health problems. They could use a blood pressure monitor that is easy to read.

It would help Mr. I. have a wonderful Christmas if he could also receive a shirt, size large, some warm longjohns, size medium and heavy-duty tennis shoes, size 13.

You can help Mr. I. and other needy elderly people in our area by buying these needed items, including grocery gift cards and personal grooming and cleaning supplies and delivering them to The Southeast Missourian, 301 Broadway. Monetary donations can also be sent to Christmas For the Elderly, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, MO 63702.

All elderly served are living independently on limited incomes with few, if any, family members. They would greatly appreciate your sharing spirit.
