CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- The body of the 45-year-old Caruthersville man who went missing while boating with a friend Sunday has been found nearly 15 miles south of the riverfront town.

CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- The body of the 45-year-old Caruthersville man who went missing while boating with a friend Sunday has been found nearly 15 miles south of the riverfront town.

According to Pemiscot County Sheriff Tommy Greenwell, shortly before 11 a.m. Tuesday barge crews along the Mississippi River reported seeing what appeared to be a body floating in the river. The vessels began communicating and giving possible location points. A Choctow Transportation tug went out to attempt to find the body and discovered a white male floating in the water.

Upon arrival, authorities with the Dyer County Sheriff's Department, Pemiscot County coroner's office and Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department determined the body was that of Jeffrey Bollinger, who had disappeared Sunday afternoon while boating with a friend north of Caruthersville.

Greenwell said at this time, no foul play is suspected and it appears that Bollinger drowned.
