2 Illinoisans found dead in Mo. park

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) -- Authorities in Missouri are investigating the deaths of two Illinois relatives at a park.

Investigators in Missouri's St. Louis County say the body of Soumya Tummala (SOOM'-yah tu-MAH'-lah) of Maryville was found Saturday morning in the passenger seat of a car on a park's boat ramp near the community of Spanish Lake.

The car was registered to 27-year-old Vikram Tummala (VIK'-rum tu-MAH'-lah). The Maryville man's body was found Monday in the lake, near the vehicle.

Authorities say they haven't yet pinned down the relationship between the two people.

Joggers called police after seeing a body slumped in a car.

Soumya Tummala was a graduate student in electrical engineering at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
