To the editor:

How pleased we are with the added feature of "Today's Prayer" to the Opinion page of the Southeast Missourian. Praise God! We at Grace United Methodist Church are currently celebrating a Season of Prayer with renewed emphasis on the importance and power of prayer. As part of the celebration, the church is now open to members and visitors every Monday through Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. Anyone needing prayer or wanting to pray is welcome. A prayer host or partner is always on hand to provide assistance if needed.

On Sunday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. we host an informal gathering for the purpose of praise, worship and prayer. This weekly gathering is also open to church members and visitors alike. Activities include praise choruses and hymns, sharing the joy of prayers answered and God's work in our lives, scripture studies, prayer and prayer requests.

We hope (as you do) to add to the "millions of Americans who already are on speaking terms with God" and to "help lift the spirits of those who choose to participate." We sincerely thank you, and may God bless us all.
