LETTERS: ABORTION AND SELFISHNESS

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

To the editor:

As long as adults continue to consider themselves more important than children, abortions will continue.

As long as we have mothers who consider themselves to be more important than their babies, abortions will continue.

As long as selfish, pleasure-seeking me think they are more important than their offspring, abortions will continue.

As long as this country has a liberal Supreme Court and Bill Clinton as president, abortions will continue.

As long as so-called Christian Democrats keep voting against their proclaimed Christian beliefs, abortions will continue.

As long as we say is honorable to not take a stand, abortions will continue.

We are a country of selfish, shallow and irresponsible people. We are ready to sue each other at the drop of a hat, and we kill our unborn babies wil ease. I am ashamed of what this country thinks is just. These little babies have committed no crime, yet we serve them the death penalty. Aren't we a compassionate lot?

We have no right to murder the most innocent thing among us. Shame on us.

As long as babies mean nothing to us, they will be killed. How many millions do you think have been aborted against their will in the last 24 years?

The issue is all about ego, irresponsibility, immorality and an inability to see beyond one's own immediate self. It's murder all right, or the sordid job would not be done. Everybody knows it. What do you believe in?

If this letter causes only one woman to reconsider and abandon the idea of abortion, then I have done more today than I've done on hundreds of other days. There is always help for a mother and her child if she seeks for it. Birthright is a place to start.
