LETTERS: NOW THE ALIENS KNOW WE KNOW

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

To the editor:

I read your recently published front-page story about an alleged UFO crash landing near Cape in 1941. Though Peggy O'Farrell's piece was very well written, I worry about the wisdom of publishing such a story on the front page or, perhaps, publishing it period. To me it illustrates very questionable editorial judgment.

The alien survivors of the crash will now realize we all know they're here. There's no telling what they'll do.

You guys should have exercised more journalistic responsibility and sat on this story. I expect there will be widespread panic.

I am very frightened. I can already tell that the aliens with whom I'm acquainted are extremely angry about your decision to publish that piece. I'm holding the Southeast Missourian responsible if I am ever again an alien abductee.
