LETTERS: BEING DIFFERENT AND DISAGREEING ARE PEFECTLY OK

To the editor:

Could you imagine a country where not only can you not view the movie of your choice, you can no longer use Speak Out as a way to voice your opinion? This is the direction we are headed: straight for the censorship of not only what you say or view, but what you think.

Diversity and free speech are what made this country so great. So why do some people feel we have to dismantle the First Amendment in order to get along in this world? Are they afraid we are all different, not in some perfect mold and all the same? Is this so offensive that they would give up their rights? I think it's time to rejoice in our differences, wear old, holey jeans or dress up if you like.

It's time to agree to disagree.
