Anyone who has had the privilege of knowing Mildred Wallhausen of the Enterprise-Courier in Charleston, Mo., knows what a charmer she is. Her 86 years of sparkle, wit and common sense are well-known among newspaper folks in these parts.

Now Miss Millie is about to join those select few who have added so much luster to journalism in this state. In September, she will be inducted in the Missouri Press Association's Newspaper Hall of Fame.

Those of us in Southeast Missouri are particularly proud of the Hall of Fame's choice. Wallhausen continues to be active in press meetings, and she continues to write her column which began in 1969.

On behalf of her ink-stained colleagues everywhere, we congratulate Millie Wallhausen for being recognized as a role model for all of us. And thanks too for all you have done throughout your life.
