To the editor:

It is a real challenge for me to attempt to put in words my deep appreciation for the thoughtfulness of so many people expressed in the last few days on the occasion of my retirement from Southeast Missouri State University. I joined its faculty and staff in 1965, and for many year SEMO has been a big and rewarding part of my life.

I have served Southeast in several positions, from professor to coach to a member of the grounds crew. Actually, it would be difficult for me to say which one was the most enjoyable. While trying very hard to give my all in service to Southeast in all those positions, I discovered that what the university gave back to me far exceeded what I deserved.

To the students, faculty and staff, I say a heartfelt thanks and wish all of you a wondrous future. May God bless you all.
