LETTERS: SMALL NURSING HOME GETS KINDNESS

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

To the editor:

When most folks think of doing acts of kindness for nursing homes, they think of the well-known, larger homes. Often the smaller homes are forgotten. For the past few years, Dee Messmer, Flo Hamil and Bonnie Rainey from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Scott City have faithfully remembered the approximately 20 folks who live at Sunshine Villa in Scott City.

The residents have enjoyed gifts that brighten their lives and refreshments that always bring smiles from these caring ladies. Employees make holidays and birthdays special, but these ladies give of their time and attention generously, which is a very special gift to those who rarely have visitors.

We know it is well past your Random Acts of Kindness Week, but we would like to acknowledge and thank the ladies from St. Joseph Catholic Church for the commitment they have made to bring a special act of kindness to our friends at Sunshine Villa.
