LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: MUNICIPAL BAND OFFERS FINE TREAT ON SUMMER DAY

This article comes from our electronic archive and has not been reviewed. It may contain glitches.

To the editor:

I would like to commend and thank the dedicated musicians of the Cape Girardeau Municipal Band who performed this past Wednesday.

They were joined by the Jerry Ford Band and singer Pat Blackwell.

The music was very enjoyable and well-presented. I loved those oldies.

It's always a treat on a summer Wednesday evening to go to the band concert.

The guest directors were the children of the audience. They were each given a baton, and they seemed to enjoy the directing. The grown-ups really enjoyed the kids too.

I've attended these concerts since they were held at Courthouse Park.

We are very fortunate to be able to attend these concerts that our city has provided free of charge for Cape for so many years. Thanks again.
