Several performances this month in Cape Girardeau

The River Campus at Southeast Missouri State University is the gift that keeps giving.

On Thursday night, a touring group from Nebraska brought "A Christmas carol" to Cape Girardeau.

Then on Saturday, the Southeast Missouri State University Percussion Ensemble presented two family holiday concerts.

Saturday evening the River Campus brought laughs with its "Durang/Durang," short comedy skits put on by students from Southeast Missouri State University. The show continues today.

Today and tomorrow you can see dance students during the "Last Chance to Dance" fall event at 7:30 p.m. at the Bedell Performance Hall. The event, free and open to the public, allows the dancers to perform in front of an audience. It will include a variety of styles including hip-hop, contemporary, ballet, tap and jazz.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, theater students will present a series of short scenes as part of their "Directing I" class projects. They will be performed both nights at 7:30 in Room 114. These are a series of short scenes, giving directors an opportunity to put learning into practice. The productions are free and open to the public, and these productions may contain adult content.

It's a busy time of the year at the River Campus, as the university keeps the community entertained with all sorts of events and opportunities. There are some big student productions on the horizon in the coming months. Stay tuned.

A special thanks to all of those who put in so much effort to bring quality entertainment to the River Campus in Cape Girardeau.
