Tunes returns

We hope you're ready to hear some music outdoors. Cape Girardeau's Tunes at Twilight returns for its fall season Friday with Jack Williams performing.

For summer in Southeast Missouri, the weather has been unseasonably cool. Heading out the door in the morning, there's a crispness that feels more like fall -- a stark contrast to the heat and humidity we're accustomed to in August. We hope this continues Friday for the start of the fall music season.

The performance begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Common Pleas Courthouse Gazebo. In the event of rain, the concert will move to Rose Theatre at Southeast Missouri State University. There's no charge to attend.

Other musicians on the schedule for the fall season include Anne McCue, The Melroys, Warren Wilken, Jimmy Davis and John Latini.

Sitting outside in a lawn chair or on a blanket with family and friends while enjoying music is a nice way to spend a Friday night. We hope you consider attending.
