Spend money on education, not outer space

To the editor:

President Bush wants to spend half a trillion dollars on research for putting human colonies on the moon and Mars. I think space exploration is great. My problem with the whole idea is simple. Where is the half a trillion dollars coming from?

Instead of blowing half a trillion dollars in space, I think we should spend it on education, Social Security and our own disabled veterans who have given so much for this country to make it what it is today, yet this country seems to forget about them.

This is just something to think about, people.
