Letter to the Editor

Pay attention to God, not carnality

To the editor:

Why should anyone have been surprised at the lawless anarchy in New Orleans? From its beginning, New Orleans has taken pride in flaunting its sinful behavior. The French Quarter has become a synonym for the public practice of debauchery.

This nation has a history of being blessed by Almighty God. To people of average intelligence, it should be evident that this same powerful God is giving warning that the nation's best friend can become our worst enemy. This is mentioned in the Bible in Isaiah 63:10.

If this comes as a surprise to the church attendees, consider the inventions and ignorance of the clergy. False prophets have abound for millennia. Personal popularity takes priority over proclaiming the revealed mind of God as given in Holy Scripture.

Numerically, few clergymen are trained or seek an education in the Bible. Small wonder, then that not many are acquainted with almighty God. Be advised that more attention should be given to God and less attention to worldly carnality.
