Jackson running back Adam Zweigart will not play in the Indians' home contest against Farmington on Friday because he will be serving a one-game suspension.
"It was an incident at school," Jackson coach Van Hitt said. "It's non-football related."
Hitt would not provide any more details concerning the reason for the suspension.
Zweigart, the 2007 Southeast Missourian player of the year, has rushed 136 times for 748 yards in five games this season.
"I don't think it will hurt us anymore than playing without Cole Rodgers last week or playing two ballgames without Kevin Pridemore [earlier in the year]," Hitt said.
Hitt said he likely would start senior Mitchell McCulley at tailback in place of Zweigart.
Another option would be Rodgers.
McCulley rushed seven times for 64 yards, including a 48-yard touchdown run, against Sikeston in Week 4.
"He [McCulley] has been working there all year and he's the one who broke the long run against Sikeston," Hitt said. "Basically, he's more of a true running back than Cole. Cole is more of a power runner, a straight-ahead runner. [McCulley] has more mobility at tailback."
