YOUTH BRIEFS: CAPE PARKS AND RECREATION TO HOLD YOUTH TRIATHLON

The Cape Girardeau Parks and Recreation Department will be sponsoring its 11th Annual Youth Triathlon and Kids Half-Miler at Central Municipal Pool at 9 a.m. July 31 for boys and girls ages 9-18.

The half-mile run will follow the triathlon.

There will be three different age divisions for the triathlon: 9-12, 13-15 and 16-18. For the kids half-mile run, there will be 4-6 and 7-9 age divisions for boys and girls.

The triathlon consists of a 200-yard swim for 9-12 year-olds, or a 300-yard swim for those 13-18, followed by a 2-mile bicycle ride and a one-mile run.
