Lance Young followed Brad LaBruyere's shutout with a strong outing of his own Wednesday as visiting Central cruised past SEMO Conference foe Sikeston 7-1.

Young struck out seven, walked three, allowed four hits and one unearned run in six innings. Tyler Bruce, Blake Slattery and Young had two hits apiece for the Tigers.

Central finished with 10 hits, the third straight game the Tigers have had 10 or more hits.

The Tigers improved to 4-1 overall, and 4-1 in the SEMO Conference.

The Indians, who were actually visitors on the scoreboard as the game was originally scheduled for Hillsboro, notched their first win to improve to 1-3.

Lawson struck out six, walked two and allowed four hits. Offensively, Taylor Busch had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs.

Jordan Buchheit and Chad Friend had three hits apiece to lead the Bulldogs (4-1). Jacob Essner, Abe Dirnberger and Luke Moll added two hits apiece. Brett Heischmidt pitched four innings for the win.

Bobbi Jo Schlick scored a hat trick as the Indians rolled.

Schlick has now scored five goals in the past two games for Jackson (2-3).

Lauren Drewett added two goals and three assists. Hannahn Kohm, Alicia Howard, Erin Curtis, Chelsea Dale and goalie Kylie Werner all added goals.

Rebecca Richbourg (2), Leslie Gordon, Curtis and Schlick added assists. Werner picked up the shutout.

Brooke Beussink's goal 7 minutes into the second half snapped a 1-1 tie and sparked the Bulldogs at home.

Freshman Amanda Pleimann scored two goals, and Meridith Medlin and Mindy Seibert added a goal apiece for Notre Dame (4-1).

Mattie Neff had two assists, while Medlin, Siebert and Megan Robert each added one.

Courtney Besand scored the lone goal for the Squaws in a tie.

Lacey Siegmund picked up the assist for St. Vincent (2-2-1). Megan Wengert made seven saves in goal.

Jackson freshman Mitchell McCulley won a pair of events as the Indians won at home.

McCulley won the 110-meter hurdles (17.9) and the 300 hurdles (44.4).

Notre Dame's Mark Zimmer won the 100, 200 and 400. The Bulldogs also came out on top in the 3,200 and 1,600 relay.

Notre Dame set a school record in the 3,200 relay in 10:43.2 with a team of Allison Toole, Amanda Toole, Teresa Miller and Jessica Banda. Banda also broke her own record in the 3,200 with a 13:17.

Notre Dame's Brett Slaten won medalist honors with a 3-over-par 39 at Bent Creek.

Brandon Holzum was second for Notre Dame (3-4) with a 46, followed by Josh Buell (50) and Austin Gelscheimer (53).

Chris Steiler led Perryville (0-1) with a 47, followed by John Zahner (51), Ricky Dunn (51) and Bob Unger (55).

The Tigers qualified for state in the 200-yard freestyle relay en route to doubling up visiting Lutheran South.

Central's 200 free quartet of Callie Hoffman, Katie Bowles, Amanda Wolpers and Hannah Kinder posted a time of 1 minute, 48.83 seconds.

Kinder improved her state qualifying time in the 200 free.
