Tiger Woods moved into position for his second straight victory, birdieing the 18th hole for a 5-under 67 and a share of the third-round lead Saturday in the Dubai Desert Classic in the United Arab Emirates.
Anders Hansen had a 69 to match Woods at 16-under 200.
Retief Goosen, the co-leader after two rounds, shot a 70 to fall one stroke behind.
Three more players were two shots back -- Miguel Angel Jimenez (66), defending champion Ernie Els (68) and Australian left-hander Richard Green (69).
Woods, coming a victory last week in the PGA Tour's Buick Invitational, started the day two shots behind Hansen and Goosen and fell three back at the turn. Hansen stayed steady on the back nine, but Goosen bogeyed three holes to fall off the pace.
Woods birdied Nos. 10, 13 and 14 with short-range putts.
He rallied for a birdie on the 18th after hooking his tee shot into palms planted in sandy desert soil. He then used a 4-iron to hit the ball over the water guarding the green and into the stands. He got a drop, chipped to 5 feet and made the putt.
"I hit a lot of good shots on the back nine," he said. "The front nine was kind of all right. I hit some indifferent ones, but I had some good ones sprinkled in there."
Tour rookie J.B. Holmes shot a 6-under 65 to take a one-shot lead in the FBR Open in Scottsdale, Ariz.
The 23-year-old Kentuckian was at 16-under 197 through 54 holes. Second-round leader J.J. Henry (70) and Ryan Palmer (64) were one back at 15 under.
Justin Leonard shot a 65 and David Toms had a 66 to reach 13 under.
Local teenager Amy Yang shot a 2-under 70 to take a one-stroke lead into the final round of the ANZ Ladies Masters in Gold Coast, Australia.
The 16-year-old Yang, four shots ahead at one stage during the third round, was at 11-under 205.
France's Ludivine Kreutz was second. Kreutz had a hole-in-one -- on the 170-yard 14th -- and made up eight shots over the final six holes in a 67.
Another amateur, 19-year-old Tiffany Joh (69), was 9 under along with fellow American Catherine Cartwright (70).
