Mid East Tournament

Perryville finished second, nine strokes behind Hillsboro at the six-team Mid East Tournament played at Terre du Lac Country Club near Bonne Terre, Mo.

Perryville shot at 333, led by Chris Stryler's 80. Stryler was second overall. Rick Dunn shot an 89. Michael Fritsche and Bob Unger shot an 86 in best ball. John Zahner and Cory Lorenz shot a 78 in a scramble format.

Central lost fell to 7-1 in dual play with a home loss to Carbondale, Ill. David Berry was Central's lone winner.

Jackson placed second out of 10 girls teams behind four first-place finishes by Rachel Kahle.

Kahle won the 100 meters (12.6), 200 (25.9), long jump (16-0 1/4) and the triple jump (36-0). Jackson also won the 400 relay in 54.3 seconds. Relay members included Amanda Peiffer, Kami Miinch, Roxanne Hudak and Andrea Richardet.

Chaffee Open

Saxony Lutheran continued to show it is more than just a distance-running power this season by capturing the boys team championship at the Chaffee Open.

Fredericktown dominated the girls meet with one four-event winner, a three-event winner and a double-winner.

Host Chaffee placed second and first-year program Bell City was third.

The Red Devils won the 400- and 800-meter relays. Christian Murakami, Chandra Uhrhan, Olivia Coomer and Tracy Martin teamed up to win the 400, and Uhrhan, Christa beck, Martin and Nikole Johnson won the 800.

Central 113, Poplar Bluff 33

Mernetta Parchman led the Central girls to victory with three individual wins.

Parchman won the 100 hurdles (18.94), the high jump (4-10) and the long jump (15-0). Roxanne Jackson had a pair of wins in the 100 (12.9) and the 300 hurdles (53.40).

Central 96, Poplar Bluff 58

Tyler Terry led the way for the Central boys with two individual wins.

Terry won the triple jump with a jump of 43, feet, 8 3/4 inches and the long jump with a jump of 20-11.
