EDMONTON, Alberta -- Ryan Smyth scored twice to help the Edmonton Oilers beat St. Louis 5-3 on Wednesday night, extending the Blues' winless streak to eight games.
Radek Dvorak had a goal and an assist and Ethan Moreau also scored in Edmonton's four-goal second period.
Smyth added a goal in the third to clinch the Oilers' third victory in their last four games.
Chris Pronger, Jamal Mayers and Keith Tkachuk scored for the struggling Blues, who've lost a season-high four straight and are 0-7-1-0 in their last eight games. They had not scored more than two goals in the previous seven.
Dvorak gave the Oilers a 2-1 lead with a power-play goal at 3:53 of the second period, but Mayers tied at 9:40.
Jason Smith pulled down Tkachuk in front at 11:23 to prevent St. Louis from taking the lead, but was called for holding on the play. Ten seconds later, after Reinhard Divis made an excellent glove save on a short-handed deflection, Smyth was given an interference penalty for crashing into the goalie.
Up two men, Pronger one-timed home Weight's pass from the faceoff dot at 12:28.
Smyth then was hooked to the ice by Jeff Finley after jumping out of the penalty box and scored 12 seconds into the ensuring Edmonton power play. He tipped in Ulanov's point shot while being pulled down, his 14th, to tie the score 3-3 at 13:54.
Horcoff made it 4-3 for the Oilers at 18:40 with a slap shot from just inside the blue line.
Chris Osgood replaced Divis in goal at the start of the third.
