"It was just an excellent pitching job by Matt," said Capahas coach Jess Bolen. "I thought the guys played well. It was a really good ballgame. This was a powerful team and he ate them up."

Waterloo, which suffered an 8-7 loss to the Capahas last week, took a 1-0 lead in the first and the Capahas tied the game in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Jim Wolsey.

Tom Bolen and Jerry Wolsey each had two hits for the Capahas, who managed 10 hits overall.
